This LivingHome is a custom, steel-framed residence designed by Ray Kappe, FAIA. It was the first home we built in Los Angeles, and it debuted as a show home with WIRED Magazine. At more than 4,000 square feet, the home was prefabricated as eleven modules that were trucked in and assembled in just two days. Like all LivingHomes, it features an extremely comprehensive environmental program.

The late Ray Kappe, FAIA, was Plant Prefab's first design partner, responsible for the company’s famous Santa Monica home (the first home in the world to achieve LEED Platinum certification), a number of remarkable custom projects, and several LivingHomes. His residential architecture is world-renown, characterized as 'the apotheosis of the California House.' Kappe’s designs evince a mastery of warm, modern spaces, clearly expressed construction systems, and environmental sensitivity.
