Plant Prefab Appoints Namrata Vora as Chief Revenue Officer and Jeff Spain as Chief Financial Officer
RIALTO, California – February 8, 2022 – Plant Prefab, the first Certified B Corporation™ building technology company dedicated to sustainable design, materials and operations, today announced the strategic hires of Namrata Vora and Jeff Spain to the newly created roles of Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively. These seasoned commercial and finance executives will work closely with Founder and Chief Executive Officer Steve Glenn, President and Chief Operating Officer Deep Bhattacharya, and the rest of Plant Prefab’s senior team to advance customer acquisition and capital-raising initiatives, fueling the company’s continued growth.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Vora is responsible for Plant Prefab’s sales, business development, marketing and pre-construction efforts. Her team works with Plant Prefab’s entire customer ecosystem, including developers, architects, general contractors and engineers, to help them plan and execute their design and development projects. She will play a critical role in ramping up production orders for the company’s automated regional production hub, which is currently under construction and slated to be operational by the end of 2022.
In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Spain oversees Plant Prefab’s finance and accounting functions, with a current focus on fundraising aimed at securing capital to help drive sustainable growth and support the company’s goal to become the first national brand serving the large custom home and multifamily housing market.
“With the recent groundbreaking of our hub, Plant Prefab is at an important inflection point as we will soon be able to significantly grow our production velocity and capabilities, allowing us to serve more markets and housing segments,” said Glenn. “To help prepare us for this growth, we hired our first CFO and CRO. Namrata and Jeff bring proven track records that will help us further scale our operations. Not only are their skills highly complementary to advancing our business plan, but they share our passion for providing a sustainable and accretive solution to the housing crisis. As we continue to expand to new regions and introduce new efficiencies into the design-build process, we will be uniquely positioned to deliver beautiful, custom architectural housing in urban infill markets across the U.S.”
Vora brings to Plant Prefab deep commercial and construction industry expertise, having led critical business development initiatives including product marketing, product management and sales at View Inc., KLA-Tencor Corp. and Applied Materials Inc. Most recently, she served as VP of Sales and Field Operations – North America, India and Asia-Pacific at SageGlass. She will leverage her industry knowledge and network to broaden Plant Prefab’s customer base as it materially expands its production capabilities to serve larger, more diverse project types – including student, affordable and market-rate housing for real estate, hospitality and institutional developers. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Savitrabi Phule Pune University, a master’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
“I have been following the prefab market for many years, and it’s clear that not only is it here to stay, but finding more efficient ways to provide beautifully-designed homes more quickly will play a core role in addressing our nation’s housing crisis,” said Vora. “Steve and the Plant Prefab team have developed a compelling, design-forward value proposition that I believe has significant potential as a solution, and I look forward to working with them as we continue to take share in a $65 billion market.”
Spain comes to Plant Prefab with more than 20 years of experience in senior accounting and finance roles with public, venture and private equity-backed growth companies. He started his career in investment banking with Credit Suisse and after ten years transitioned to CFO and operating executive roles with a number of successful growth companies. Over the course of his career, Spain has raised more than $11 billion in capital, successfully led the accounting team at a $750 million public company group, and executed over $5 billion in M&A transactions. Prior to joining Plant Prefab, Spain served as Chief Financial Officer of private equity-owned RealD, a leading global licensor of 3D and other visual technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
“Technologies that drive efficiencies in the antiquated construction industry are generating significant interest from the investment community, and Plant Prefab is a prime example, having a committed group of reputable financial and strategic investors,” said Spain. “Given Plant Prefab’s technology-driven business model, strong foundation in sustainability, and long-tenured team, we have a real opportunity to meaningfully impact the major environmental shortcomings of housing design and construction, while better serving and partnering with all parties involved in the process. This is why Plant Prefab is the leader in architectural prefabricated housing.”
